Attention all Hands
I love trekbbs so far. Just joined today. I'm hoping someone can help my failing memory out a little. My roommate (he is not a trekkie) today was talking about an episode of ST in which an alien machine type form appeared on the ship and instantly cured an individual of whatever physical/medical problem they were experiencing at the time and that he hoped that we would live long enough and/or have enough money to experience something like this. I immediately thought he was talking about the TNG episode in which the crew allows this alien humanoid to come on board and gives him asylum because he is being pursued by another humanoid species on his world because he and his kind are different from the dominant species and therefore a threat to them that needs to be eliminated. Turns out that his species is evolving in pure energy/light with incredible powers of healing, etc. and at the end he completes his evolution /transformation into light and leaves the ship and everyone is happy. My roommate insists that the episode he is talking about it is a machine that materializes next to an injured person in sickbay , cures them, then dematerializes. Unfortunately, he could be talking about TOS, TNG, VOY, DS9, or ENT, or maybe even one of the movies.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks,
