What did Worf de-evolve into?

indolover

Fleet Captain
De-evolved Worf looked like some kind of lobster-creature , but aren't Klingons mammalian?

Or it is that many millions of years ago, the distant ancestors of Klingons were that de-evolved species, and over time, they evolved hair, teeth, developed an endoskeleton, etc?

Seeing Proto-Worf made me wonder what the natural predators of the ancient Klingons must have been like, for them to have to be like THAT to survive.

Barclay devolved to a spider, so the devolved Worf would not necessarily represent what Worf's ancestors actual were like.

He devolved into a potential lawsuit with 20th Century Fox...

Well he looked like a cross between Alien and Predator to me, the mandibles and the acid spit...

You've seen the Nausicaans, right? They're a more blatant Predator rip off if you ask me :p

I figured that the Skeletor-esque creatures Worf fights in his holodeck exercises were supposed to be Hurq.

A Hur'q perhaps?

Right, Worf is the illegitimate great-great-great-great-great grandson of the unholy union of a Hur'q & a Klingon chambermaid

But, better a lobster "like" creature than this:

Klingons aren't necessarily mammalian, anyway. the forehead ridges are mirrored on their extremities (at least on their feet) and greatly resemble scales. Klingons therefore could be at least partly reptilian in their makeup, and what Worf devolved into may have been some kind of proto-Neanderthal type Klingon ancestor. Or it could have been the Klingon equivalent of the spider that Barclay devolved into.

To be honest, whatever it was that Worf devolved into, there might not be an Earth equivalent to the species classification that it is (i.e. mammalian, reptilian etc.) so maybe trying to shoehorn it won't work...

To say Worf de-evolved would imply that Worf is evolved to begin with. Sorry, that's my attempt at humor for other people like me who are not Worf fans. I thought it was a little comical. I too thought Klingons were mammilian.

Eh, maybe not. I've read comics where there are female aliens that are said to be descended from insects and they still had boobs...

Do Klingons lay eggs? No, the babies grow in the mother's womb. They also have a lot of hair.

Ergo, mammals.

That's what I was gonna say.

Generally agree, although mapping terrestrial taxonomic families onto an alien biosphere is like naming a continent on an alien planet "North America."
