What did Jake mean?

In 2x16, Shadowplay when Jake is telling Ben that he doesn't want to join Starfleet, Cirroc Lofton gave an interesting reading of the line,

"I don't want to join Starfleet, since forever. Starfleet is too much, like you. I need to find what's me."

He pauses after saying 'too much' before saying 'like you.'

I see two possible interpretations of what Jake is saying.

1) Starfleet is too much like his Dad - and he wants a different type of life, or, and because of the way Cirroc delivers the line,

2) Starfleet is too intense like his dad, again the pause that Cirroc gives on the line could suggest this.

Ben Sisko was after all a very intense character.

What do you think? I am reading too much into the line delivery?

I think he means that Jake associates Starfleet with his dad. As in, when he thinks of his dad he thinks of Starfleet, and all those reminders. So, to him, to be in Starfleet is to be just like his dad, and he wants to chart his own course.
