It's probably a given, that the Klingon empire and Klingon villains would be covered in a Star Trek 2 cinema sequel, but whether that occurs or not, what alien and human characters (excluding the main cast) you greatly admire or greatly dislike from the 5 Star Trek TV shows, do you want to see featured in the inevitable Star Trek 2 - 7 films.

There will be no identical reuse of numbering. Except for Spiderman the use of numbers in titles is more or less dead anyway. Just look at the options and the best choice is obvious

New characters, mainly. From existing races would be okay. But more Andorians, please.
I wouldn't mind the return of the space rogue type - Harry Mudd, Cyrano Jones - or another character who represents the same phenomenon. I like the notion that humans of the 23rd C were good little capitalists in some cases, and the commie thing only really set in in the 24th C, with the invention of the replicator, which killed the motive for capitalism by making everything free.
Orions could use some development. For them to be simply mercenary and/or oversexed isn't really enough. I like them as the expression of the unchained Id, as opposed to the repressed old grannies of Starfleet.
But there needs to be some reality under the cardboard treatment they've gotten so far.

They should bring back the Gorn, but not the man in costume OR the CGI version from Enterprise - something new and better than both. Maybe a combination of actor (out of costume) and visual effects...like Two-Face in the last Batman movie.

I would be tempted to say the Cardassians, but given what the recent films did to the Romulans I'll have to second the call for new races please.

Agreed. A few members of that race in those red academy uniforms, would've sweetened the deal for me. As it is, the predominantly human line-up made Starfleet look like a Starship Troopers-style fascist organisation. Aliens looked few and far between, and not recognisable races at all.

I wondered if they'd do "young Khan". It must be tempting given the reputation of the "Star Trek II", but I'd rather they didn't revisit that character. I don't think anyone could fill Montalban's shoes. It might be better if they re-invented the look of known species for this new time period/timeline as they seem to have done somewhat with the Romulans (although I don't know if from now on they'll be bald with facial tattoos
).
