Neil deGrasse Tyson because he's sure to figure out a way home.

Professor Brian Cox for the same reason as Pondwater and CorporalClegg chose Neil deGrasse Tyson but with the added benefit that Coxie is sexy and has a lovely Manchester accent.
I not sure how well known the Prof is in the USA so here is a clip from The Wonders of the Universe.

A distant second would have to be someone funny, to make me forget how totally and utterly screwed I am--so someone like John Stewart, probably. Funny, friendly, and doesn't take up a lot of space in our tiny space capsule.

Brian Cox is well known in the US. He's on Science Channel all the time. I like him, but I don't know if I'd want to be lost in space with him. Surely there's an equivalent sexy female scientist for me-- maybe that one who is a fire dancer in her spare time.

Peter Wingfield. Because he's intelligent, handsome, does the laundry and dishes without complaining, has medical training and is a totally nice guy. Plus he has this very rare ability to make the best of every situation. (I'd propably have to build him a huge hamster wheel, though. He tends to get nervous when he can't run his daily halfmarathon
