An 8 yr old boy, playing baseball with only one leg. He bats, plays catcher, and toughs it out just like his teammates. Kudos to his parents for letting take this chance!

Wow, that is AWESOME. Major kudos to that kid and his parents. I think his mom should get the Mom of the Year Award. The world needs more moms like her:

"I was a little hesitant when we first brought him up here for baseball," Michelle said. "I thought his spirit might be crushed if he got out every time. Then I thought, who am I to micromanage his feelings? He's going to have to learn how to deal with this stuff. The more I shelter him, the more he'll think, 'I'm fragile.' I don't think I'll ever tell him he can't do something."

And that is an excellent point. The irony is that with that kind of overprotection , such kids could be easily handicapped as this one.
