30 This is NOT a spam thread.
40 Those are called game threads + GOTO 10

Nor is this a TV & Media thread.
[/Disclaimer]

In a number of lounges there are/have been What are you watching-threads, and while those usually are quite spammy/gamey they on occasion also function to socially connect the participants.
Which is a lounge thing.

But they also allow for debate on content of what we are watching and why we find that interesting enough to mention.

Daily we're all bombarded with news from around the globe, re-runs of ancient TV-shows (even reading this board you are sure to know what I mean), new 'reality' shows, even (on rare occasions) actual scripted stories and documentaries -even: 'drama-documentaries'.
Add your own collection of DVDs, SVCDs and Youtube plus hundreds of similar sites and you've got more things to watch than you would ever find time to...

Now: What are You Watching? -Why are you watching it? -Why would you find it worthy of mentioning here? -Would you recommend it or are you warning us off? -Is it funny? -Dramatic? -what?

At this very moment I'm watching the episode Counter Culture Blues of the series Lewis.
Just because it's one of the best current crime shows and because I luv Joanna Lumley.

Apart from that I'm watching a lot of 3rd Rock from the Sun episodes because I love meta gags and find the comedy of that particular show hilarious.
(As you see I'm not even watching anything terribly serious right now -even if news from DC and Iran were on my 'what I'm watching'-list earlier today).

I'm hoping this thread will remain in Misc. until it either disappears down the hole or reaches the magical (theoretical) 1000 posts limit.

One of my many projects this year has been to watch all five seasons of B5. I've never seen the series in its entirety and in order. Although I haven't purchased all the ancillary movies, eps, and series, I've had the five actual seasons on the shelf collecting dust. I'm halfway through the fifth season, and I'm most impressed with what a great series this was.

I am watching "Queer as Folk:. I have just finished watching the first season and am waiting for the first disc of the second season to be sent to me by the online DVD rental store.

I am watching it because my best friend recommended it to me. I am really getting drawn into the lives of Brian, Justin, Michael, Ted and Emmett.

While I am waiting for more "Queer as Folk" to arrive, I am rewatching "Dark Angel" as I haven't watched it for a couple of years. I wish that it had gone beyond two seasons.

I think discussing our viewing habits is a valid Misc Topic; my fellow Mods can feel free to correct me. And, by the way, we can have games in Misc. ;)

What am I watching and why? I'm watching Kung Fu Season Three, because it's one of the best shows ever on TV; The Adventures Of Superman Season One, because it's a nostalgic trip to my childhood; Supernatural Season One, because it's one of the best shows currently on TV. All three were Birthday gifts.

Actually, no, I just made out really well this year. Although my Sister had already gotten me Seasons One and Two of Kung Fu, so she knew she was on safe ground there. :D

I am watching "Queer as Folk:.
I've just ordered both the series and the two-parter :p ;)

:rommie::rommie::rommie: That's how I watch that show too!
Terrible waste of electricity doing two, three, things at once, but sometimes you just can't help yourself! :p
Even 'Google' is a waste of energy, but at least I don't drive to a library to look up up the stuff -or own it as an encyclopaedia of my own!

/.../ Supernatural Season One, because it's one of the best shows currently on TV.
Sis and I agreed that the first two seasons were actually quite good - and my nephew even agreed!

If it weren't for Swedish channel 4 I would have forgotten how much I love The X-Files and wouldn't be watching it live right now. I hope I'm not the only one thinking that show is a 'keeper'. Sure, I have the DVDs but I'm watching it 'live' because it's on! the only "waste of energy" is due to the commercials, not my running a DVD player!

I'm watching last nights Dollhouse that I recorded. Later, it'll be NCIS Season 5 on dvd and Life.

My lunch break watching at the moment is JAG season 5:)

started watching 'monkey' again my partner creases up when she sees pigsy reckons it reminds her of her brother.

I have on the Roger Corman/Vincent Price "Fall of the House of Usher" at the moment. I love old scifi/horror films, and this is one of my favorites. Vincent Price is always pure awesome incarnate, and he did especially well in the many Poe adaptations. The climax is coming up here. Pretty spooky, I definitely recommend it. My copy is a DVD in the "Midnight Movies" line. I bought it years ago as a standalone, but I've seen it more recently in stores as a double feature disc with the slightly less excellent but still nifty "Pit and the Pendulum" film.

A documentary about the early days of NASA, leading up to the Moon landings. One of several programmes on the BBC commemorating 40 years since the first manned moon landing. (Some of them featuring James May.)
