Linky.
Personally, I plan to spend the next few months burning through my increasing and depressing backlog of games I bought but have never played or finished. These include several PS2 titles (everything from Atelier Iris 3 to Yakuza 2), some PS3 gunk (Mirror's Edge), and even a couple of Wii titles (Disaster: Day of Crisis and Zak & Wiki).
Off the top of my head I can think of only a handful of purchases for the near future: Persona 4, Tales of Vesperia, and Fat Princess. I'm hoping the latter will turn into my staple multiplayer game for 2009 and hopefully beyond.
I will not be buying Final Fantasy XIII unless Satan catches a cold, because as a fan of Japanese RPGs I find the Final Fantasy franchise to be insufferably dense...I'll stop myself before this turns into a rant. I will be buying Heavy Rain, because if it's only a fraction as good as Fahrenheit it'll still be game of the year. I will also be buying Sonic and the Black Knight, because as a direct followup to the best Sonic game since Sonic 3, it's all but certain to appeal to this jaded Sega fanboy. And no, I won't be buying Wii WagglePlus.
I hope that Sega will announce localisations of Yakuza: Kenzan! and Yakuza 3, though after the complete disinterest the west has shown in the superb Valkyria Chronicles I wouldn't blame them for keeping their more niche titles in the only territory that appreciates something other than space marines blowing things up and shooting monsters.
What say you?
