What are you planning to read in 2020?

Kilana2

Vice Admiral
Admiral
My list:

- I want to finish Antares Maelstrom
- Hearts and Minds by Dayton Ward (German editionI
- The Captain's Oath
- The Janus Gate Trilogy or the Captain's Table Omnibus (at least part of it)
- The German editions of Enigma Tales, Available Light and Fortunes of War
- I'm planning a re-read of The Neverending Story

I’m going to try and re-read the first couple dozen Pocket Books Star Trek novels, starting with The Entropy Effect.

I say “try” because some of those titles have defeated me in the past, so if I get through them, it will be for the first time.

Finish up the "Expanse" series.
Some of the new John Jackson Miller Star Wars books.
Some Joe Abercrombie cuz his stuff is fantastic.

And "Tales from the Captains Table" has been on my list for a long time. Is it any good?

On the Trek front, I'm almost caught up with the TNG and Titan books, so once those are done I'll move on to DS9. I started over the SCE books a couple months ago, so I'm going to continue them.
I'm also working my way through the new Star Wars canon novels. I've got quite a few of them, so it's just a matter of actually reading them. My next little project there is the prequels and novelization of Rogue One.
I've also got some DC and Marvel comics novels, and movie novelizations I own and want to read.
I'm not as sure about the non-tie in front since that tends to be more random based on what I'm in the mood for at the moment. I definitely want to at least continue working my way though the Dresden Files and Kate Daniels series. I'm also planning on reading through the Sigma Force books from the beginning. I had originally started the series a while back with the third or fourth book and then stopped a couple books later, so now I want to go back and start from the beginning this time. I also plan on reading Neuromancer for the first time, I've heard about it quite a bit so now I want to finally read it. I've got other stuff to read, but those are the ones I definitely want to read in the near future.

Due to the price increase, to say nothing of the financial realities of being a homeowner with so many appliances suddenly needing replaced since September, I have not kept up with the latest book releases. I don't yet own a single Discovery novel for example.

That said however, my bookshelves are overflowing with things I've collected but haven't read yet, so I will find something. I own the entire run of Vanguard and it's follow up Seekers, for example, and have not read those yet. So maybe this year......Yeah....I've been saying THAT for at least five years now.

You will find that some of the Tales are more exciting than others..... But I liked most of them.

I think my big one, beyond the regular Trek novels, is to finally read the Timothy Zahn Star Wars trilogy.

I'm hoping to do a re-read of the star wars Legends line. I actually started this week with Heir to the Empire. I plan to read the books in the order they were published. Since that's the way the books really built off each other. I would also like to read all the star trek discovery books. As well as a bunch of TOS books from the past few years I've yet to get to.

I will plan (as I always do :D) to at least read all the books I take out of the library. I never manage it though, because I get distracted by a mood to read books that I own and have read many times before...

Those 2 Kelvin Trek novels. I've been waiting ten years!
Same here.

For my own reading, I hope to get to Deep Domain, Strangers From the Sky, and The Romulan Way. And after I finish Discovery season 2, The Enterprise War, maybe hopefully.

For Star Wars, Wraith Squadron and the last book of the Aftermath trilogy.

Ian Flemming's Dr No and Goldfinger.

Stephen Kings The Drawing of Three, and Firestarter.

The second Hornblower book, Ship of the Line (publication order).

The Bonehunters, sixth book of the Malazan series.

Marvellous Land of Oz, The Black Cauldron, A Wind in the Door.

Also the Back to the Future comic series by IDW, there's some really good stuff in the early issues, looking forward to when it starts into the longer stories.

I'm up to the point where I start reading the trade paperback sized books. Except for 20 of the old TOS numbered books. The big decision is to whether I'm going to focus on the Discovery books or the TOS/TNG books. I'm leaning towards the Discovery books. I'm half way through the 2nd season and when I read the back covers of the books I think I'd be into this.

And the next chunk of TOS numbered books I'm reading are the 6 I have left in the #50's range. I'm looking forward to books by Gene DeWeese, L.A. Graf and Michael Jan Friedman. And the collective novel with Friedman, Peter David and Robert Greenberger.

Non Trek, I need to pick up again on The Expanse. And Charles Stross.

Deep domain and Strangers from the sky and The Romulan way are some of my favorite Star trek Tos books I've read they're really good stories. I think you'll really like reading them Desert Kris.

Quite a lot in the reading backlog at the moment:

Typhon Pact: Brinkmanship
The Fall: The Crimson Shadow
Cold Equations: The Body Electric
TNG - Hearts and Minds
TNG - Available Light
TNG - Collateral Damage

Continuing my Star Trek relaunch novels mission, first began in 2015 with the A time to series. I am on Typhon Pact Plagues of Night
