What are these...?

shapeshifter

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
I was looking at the following img in the High Res thread...

objects-1.jpg

searching for some clue about Spocks time ship when I noticed something odd.

The one on the <left is unfamiliar but the one on the right> appears to be some sort of Fed ship. Theories?

I think the ex-astris-scientia website describes these as small Romulan attack shuttles or pods of some design. Much smaller attack ships attached to Nero's far larger temporal mothership.

Hard to make out there, but the greenish color reminds somewhat of the missiles/fighters/drones(?) closing on the Kelvin in the first image we saw of that ship.

Yes, Romulan single-pilot attack drones or pods. Perhaps even remotely controlled like probes with nobody aboard at all.

(larger img added to OP)

I've figured out the one on the <left is an ending to all the coils of drill tether seen draping everywhere in the original img but the right one still appears to be a Starship.

Looking at it in motion in the theatrical trailer (at 1:44, just after Kirk fires the disruptor) I'm still not sure. The green glow and the starship-like object move from that point toward the camera POV as if they're one unit. I think it may be another of those missile/pod thingies launched at the Kelvin. It moves really fast, though, and even going frame-by-frame it's hard to say with any certainty what it might be.

I managed a pause on that in a fairly good position and it's now clearly not a starship but it also clearly isnt' the same shape as the ships attacking the Kelvin. Might be Neros transport from the Nerada to the drilling platform.

You're all WRONG!!!!

What you're seeing is clearly a BORG presence, and NO ONE shall escape assimilation!!!

:p

I'm thinking its Elvis.

After all, remember your old gag-song lyrics?

Elvis is EVERYWHERE.

Hmm, well, that's pretty clearly Jar-Jar Binks on the left.

The one on the right is either Greedo or Mas Boss. It's hard to tell in that lighting.

Kirk shoots first.

It's amazing, the stuff in that trailer. I had no idea what you were talking about regarding Kirk.

Ran my copy of the trailer, found it. Managed to get a nice capture.

What was it? Like three frames? :D I wonder what else is in there.

Why does everybody keep calling them ROMULAN Ships....?

What if it's a Klingon Octo-Ship he stole??

Has it actually been stated that it IS a Romulan Octo-Ship???

I don't think it's either. I won't be upset whatever it is. I may be wrong.

I think it's something alien beyond Klingons or Romulans.
An exotic, highly advanced ship he got his hands on built by neither race.

Actually, it's a Vorlon ship. Nero stopped off at B5 before whizzing off to attack the Kelvin.

And, yes, JMS is consulting with attorneys.
