What about Star Trek Quark?

If doesn’t involve Richard Benjamin, I’m out.

^ There was no attempt at such a topic in the OP.

Arguably, it could go in FoT if the GTD mods want to toss it back to me.

No, I'm just talking hypotheticals here. This was an attempt at an STPicard humor thread, not an easter egg thread. If you wanted to start an easter egg thread for STPicard, it would probably be best in your forum rather than FoT.

I guess I might as well repost something I shared with my brother elsewhere while were talking about Quark franchising his business after DS9. Edited to avoid anything potentially spoilery.

I think he left. I don't think he stayed on DS9 too long either. After he got over the shock of Rom being Nagus, he probably exploited that to its maximum advantage. And then there's the wormhole leading into the Gamma Quadrant going into Dominion Space. With a peace treaty, it was probably agreed that ships from the Alpha Quadrant stay out of the Gamma Quadrant, and DS9 lost its strategic importance after the war... So no one probably cared about the wormhole or the station after the war, business might've looked like it was going down, Quark was without his frenemy/nemesis (Odo), and he just decided it was time to move on.

"To bigger and better things!"

Then you'd start to see Quark's bars popping up all over the place. And in 2399, he probably has the Business Chain he always dreamed of. He's probably living on the 24th/25th Century version of Mar-a-Lago or whatever.

There. How's that for adding something that can be discussed? It's even cross DS9/PIC.

Yeah, he's probably got his own moon by now. I'm sure he keeps a franchise on DS9 for historical purposes, maybe run by Morn or some random Ferengi, but he's definitely able to expand his operations without the Odo equation involved and the added attention from profit-seekers wanting to close to the Nagus via his brother (and Quark easily willing to exploit that).

The Bajorans it seems, via Kira, also more fully take over the station, and she might not be as willing to turn a blind eye as Sisko was wont to do. Especially given their personal history.

On the other hand, Quark is a Dominion War hero who was instrumental in driving the Dominion off the station and saving Kira's life in the process.

This reminds me... there was some recent discussion of a Quark animated series that Armin Shimerman was trying to pitch to MTV around the turn of the century. It obviously never happened.

Hopefully called Morn's Quark's.

Kind of like "Ruth's Chris Steak House," a restaurant chain in the US. Interesting nomenclature with interesting history.

I think a Quark series, or mini-series, could work. I could see a story line involving a rich, successful Quark having to deal with a problem created by his criminal past catching up to him. Unable to get help from his politically connected brother or his Starlfleet Captain nephew, he has to turn to his old criminal contacts which takes the viewers on a tour of the criminal underbelly of the Star Trek universe.

Star Wars does the crime/criminal scene well and I think it's time for Trek to give their take on the genre.

How about.... Quark series with Quark earning a fortune with some suspicious activities, then getting busted and has to beg the Grand Nagus, his beloved brother, for help.

he probably owns a moon that is filled with casinos and bars but most likely keeps his bar on DS9 just in case the moon fails.
