Were the Timelords half assed in cleaning up after 1 and 2?

Scrubbing Zoe and Jamie's minds clean and returning them to moments after the doctor set off with them each in the first place seemed like an off ending for these two, but why would the Timelords seem in need to mindwash just these two? What about Susan (Okies, we can all see why Susan would get a pass.) and the other dozen or so companions that we do know and do not know about before these two recipients of the blur setting on the Gallifreian mindscan?

Then? How difficult would it have been to timescoop and exercise the remembrances of Ian, Barbara, Vicki, Stephen, Dodo, ben polly and Victoria and put them back were they do actually belong? I mean I was listening to "Vicki" on the first companion Chronicles last night and I got to thinking about the sort of damage she could have done tot he timeline mucking about in a 1000 bcish other than founding Atlantis or Lumeria with all the modern convieniences it was in her power to recreate from memory and the ancient infrastructure?

Why bother with Jaimie and Zoe if the rest are running about talking about TARDISes and the Doctor? Or was it that no one had said the word "Timelord" before if they did in fact say it in the War Games?

The real question is....who is to say they didn't?

When's the last time you saw companions Ian Chesterton-to-Liz Shaw? Who is to say they don't spend the rest of their lives relatively oblivious to their time spent traveling with The Doctor? Maybe that's why they have never "returned" for a special or anything...

IMO it was pretty much that they had had such a close encounter with the TIme Lords that they were wiped. It seems to be habitual, at least in the early years... Lots of fans have argued over the years that the various companions who've been swept up in the larger Gallifrey incidents have been wiped, possibly without their knowledge. Sarah Jane Smith was the biggest proof of this, with the Tenth Doctor apparently telling her that she'd not met his Fifth incarnation.

Well, Ian was suppose to appear in The Mawdryn Undead, but William Russell was unfortunately busy at the time. That's why the Brigadier tought mathematics in that serial. ;)

Even if the Timelords did mess with all those you mention, they still forgot the Brigadier/Yates/Benton...

Maybe even the timelords don't like to fuck with UNIT though

NO ONE likes to fuck with UNIT with Lethbridge-Stewart in command... ;)

I didn't think that the boys from UNIT actually traveled with the second Doctor? Earth bound adventures sure, but proof of what a TARDIS can do, and needing to be temporallytranslocated to where they actually belong: No.
