Well, bought a new car.

Thanks, I've looked all over the settings on my phone, and cannot seem to find the one that makes the necessary adjustment.

(It's a Blackberry Bold 9780, stop laughing!)

I knew of the USB Port/Charging. I may look into getting a docking station or a short USB cord that can lay in that little space by the power center. My parent just bought a new Toyota as well, a 2015 Rav4, and theirs has a little stand/"tray" their phone can sit up-right in near the power station. No such thing for me. Just that little blank shelf-like space.

I pulled the trigger and got a 2015 Honda Civic LX. My Corolla of course decided to un-die and worked perfectly fine (well, other than the vibrations and the knocking sounds that the engine likes to make) on the way to the dealership, but I guess it's good because of trade-in value.

So here it is: already well acquainted with freezing rain, sand, and salt.

I have a Ford Focus as a business car. How do you rate your new car in comparism? If it's good I might get my bosses to buy me a Toyota when I'm due for a new car.
What'd interest me most is info about storage space, gas usage and easy maintenance (with my Focus you have to disassemble the complete front light if you want to exchange the bulb. And changing the battery is completely impossible for a layperson as you'll have to take half the car apart to get to it. Most irritating!)
Unfortunately, miLady, most cars have become near impossible to work on by laypeople. This is by design. First, they are designed on computers, with no attention to whether one can get a wrench or screwdriver in such small, cramped spaces. Second, the design forces the owner to spend money at the dealership for more issues than in older designs.

It sucks, but it is the truth. Mechanics are now called automotive technicians. Even they get frustrated with newer designs.

Congratulations on your new car purchase, Trekker. Your license plate, fish logo, and decal totally rock. You and I have the same Starfleet decal. I have one on my 2012 VW Jetta.

A funny thing happened yesterday while I was driving on the freeway. A driver in a white pick-up rolled down his window and extended a familiar hand gesture that other motorists would've mistaken for something totally obscene. I passed the kindred soul and reciprocated the "Live long and prosper" sign. It was nice to realize there were others like me out there. :)

Most of the US cars are going to be from Tupelo.

I support the tire and wheel mounting operation there with some of my software. These are the cars that used to be build at the former NUMMI (now TESLA) plant in Fremont CA.
