Making good on my threat to open a Star Trek box office thread in MvRojo's absence, voila!

    Source data from this site...

Outstanding legs...! Drop 28% week to week, 10% from Tuesday, compares very favorably to Up and Smithsonian, and those are newbies! :)

Proud to have contributed to those numbers for viewing #6 yesterday--smallest theater in the house, still half full.

    T4 is just tanking...

This is great. Basically about a million dollars a day during the week, and now over 225,000,000 total in the US box office. Very nice.

Pelham and Imagine are getting in the 30's at Rotten Tomatoes, so they might not accelerate Trek's fade too much...

What would be funny is if Trek outlasted LotL... :)

I guess $250M is really within reach.

Viewing #15 last night, and in IMAX; thank goodness it's back. A world of sight and sound difference.

Still hinges on how many theaters keep it post TF2.

I tend to agree, and on how "big" the latest releases are gonna be... If LotL fades quickly, along with Eddie Murphy's latest, then Trek might still "hang around" at a low level, especially if the IMAXes keep showing it... TF2 has a stranglehold on that scene when it comes out, but the "secondary" IMAXes might still run Trek.

    Good man!

I'm reserving my next time for the IMAX... :)

worldwide figures tend to be bit late in coming, I think Star Trek should make 250 million at the US Box Office and at least 200 million worldwide (US not included :D) giving total of 450 million for first of 3 ST movies :techman:

It was wonderful! It's the new Star Trek movie; people ought to go see it -- and in IMAX.

It opened in most countries around the same time as US so it's not going to get a whole lot more in foreign box office. $200M is out of reach, I doubt if it can make $150M unless it can do real great in the few countries it hasn't opened yet (India, etc)

Good hold for Trek, it has staying power. It would be nice to see an 8% increase for 1m on Thursday, and of course a less than moderate drop this weekend. 250m domestic is still within reach I should say.

Actual number for Trek in - Wednesday; $909,830 / $225,473,885

Good numbers. Anything over 300mill world wide was what the hollywood insiders were predicting to be a good showing TREK. Success!!!

Trek should remain in the top 10 at the domestic box office throughout June, but then will be bumped out of the top 10 with the start of July.
