Webcomics: WHAT READ YOU?

Shik

Commander
Red Shirt
Title: self-explanatory.

I used to read a ton: The whole Natalie Dee/TFD/MTTS clan, CAD, Treading Ground, but a whole bunch just...dropped off. And then I was in a position where I was unable to read for about, oh, 2 years so some (like ND/TFD/MTTS) I've just...not even a chance of updating on, I think. Although at some point I think I'll actually tackle the backlog from Sinfest.

Lately, though, I pretty much stick with QC & XKCD, Dresden Codak when it updates, Romantically Apocalyptic when it updates, Drive when it updates. Sadly, 2 of my favorites have seemingly ceased production: Hipster Hitler hasn't updated since September & Vladimir Putin Action Comics looks to have died almost 3 years ago (but it's still good for a laugh when you go back.)

And you?

Schlock Mercenary
XKCD
Evil Inc.
Penny Arcade.

I also read all the standard newspaper comics using the Go Comics app on my Android devices. Saves paper. It even has Calvin and Hobbs.

I'm feeling too lazy to link to stuff right now. Google searches should suffice.

XKCD
Questionable Content
Cyanide & Happiness
Oglaf
Basic Instructions
Order of the Stick

Several, but most notably:

XKCD
SMBC
Poorly Drawn Lines
SUBNORMALITY!
Texts From Dog

I read:

Shortpacked About people working at a toy store. Also, there's occasional aliens and superpowers.
Dumbing of Age Alternate universe from Shortpacked where the aliens and superpowers never happened, and everyone is back in college.
Questionable Content Slice of life comic, but with some robots.
Multiplex People working at a movie theater. About movies, and their lives
Menage a 3 Often NSFW. Kinda like Three's Company, but with a lot more sex and actually funny.

XKCD
The Oatmeal
Girl Genius
Sinfest
Cyanide and Happiness

Hyperbole and a Half is more a drawn blog than a webcomic, but I read that, whenever there's a new one.

Sarah Andersen's Doodle Time has only recently come to my attention, but I could see it becoming a regular stop.

Of the ones mentioned above, I regularly read Freefall, Order of the Stick, and XKCD, and would regularly read Drive and Dresden Codak if they were anything remotely like regular.

Others that haven't been mentioned:

Narbonic and Skin Horse: Shaenon T. Garrity's mad-science universe. The former ended years ago but is fully archived, and the latter has begun incorporating elements from the former. (Also from Garrity is Monster of the Week, an often hilarious cartoon recap of episodes of The X-Files.)

Strong Female Protagonist, a very smart, deconstructive comic about a former superheroine who's decided there must be a better way to make a difference.

Quantum Vibe, a fairly good, moderately hard-SF space opera set in a heavily colonized and diverse Solar System. Not crazy about the libertarian politics, but it has interesting ideas.

Another ended strip that I mean to revisit sometime is Starslip, a solid and clever SF comedy that reminds me a bit of Red Dwarf.

Hinges, a beautifully drawn (if sometimes confusing) comic that I can't really describe.

Darths and Droids, the ongoing photocomic that reinterprets the Star Wars movies as role-playing campaigns -- and often makes them a lot more coherent in the process.

Arcanum, a rather intense and cinematic action-fantasy comic written by the creator of Leverage.

Nimona, a limited series in a weird modern/medieval mashup fantasy world, kind of Dr. Horrible-ish in that the protagonist is a principled supervillain battling a cruel establishment (and dealing with a sidekick who may be far more evil than he is).

Lately I've been looking at an SF comic called The End, which is pretty well-drawn and has some rich worldbuilding behind it, but I'm not as engaged by the story as I'd like to be and it feels a little unfocused at times.

Great minds, B.J. :) Another oots-fan reporting in. And I follow RJD's Trunkards, of course!
Thank you. I always appreciate that. :)

I don't read Girl Genius, but I should. I've always loved Phil Foglio's art and I do like the Steampunk stuff.

I do subscribe to GoComics (only 99 cents a month), which has a mixture of newspaper and web comics. Plenty of good stuff.

There's lots of great-sounding suggestions in this thread, which I shall promptly bookmark and probably never have time to actually read.

^ Thank you for reminding me, Doctor Cat isn't my only one. I read some on GoComics, and of course Trunkards on Facebook.
