So I'm at my wits end with this problem and am hoping someone here can help me out. We have used this Sony EVID100 camera for many years taking still pictures and acquiring the photos in a third party program for identification cards and what not. Unfortunately the computer that was being used was seven years old, on Windows XP, and needed to be replaced recently. Plus we switched software, so it was a double whammy. I took the old video card out, as this camera uses S-Video, and tried to install it in the new computer. Of course it's Windows 7 and I could not find any compatible drivers for the card being that it's so old. More research and I purchased this StarTech S-Video to USB adaptor. My goal was to get the camera to show up as a Windows Imaging Device, as then the new software should have been able to acquire the image and import it accordingly. My theory anyway. I got the camera to show up as an imaging device in Windows. However none of the imaging, or paint programs, give me the option to acquire an image from it.
I'm lost and now have, essentially, a $1200 paperweight. Anyone have a similar experience or maybe any thoughts on what I might do to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
