Warp 3 Medical Recorder- Kinda medical tricorder

Hi guys,

I have been a trekkie since 1992, in China. We recently finished a medical tricorder, soon commercially available for the EU market. It's a handheld device with vital sign and ultrasound module, just like what's been used by doctor McCoy.

Just, it's called medical recorder, because tricorder is a trade mark of CBS.

Nice! Was this one of the entries in the XPrize competition? http://tricorder.xprize.org/

thanks

it's not in the XPrize competition, though we kept watching the deveolpment. The reason was that we could not afford to pay for the entrence fee, and most importantly, we didn't agree with what they defined as a medical tricorder, self diagnosis of 20+ type diseases including HIV, without medical professionals. I have been in medical technology for 13 years and dare not to dream that far.

I'm in ultrasonic non destructive inspection and wish we had something like that instead of the bulky Panametrics scopes—not that the company would buy top end electronics.

That looks nice.

the micro ultrasound is, however, not equivalent to nowadays big ones. we value the image quality to 2000's portable B/W entry levels, such as GE's Logiq 100. There are many more factors in consideration, power consume, heating, etc. We believe it's a new direction to design ultrasound.
