Wall-Street (1980s) - Spoilers Obviously

I finally watched the original Wall Street to see if I'd be interested in Money Never Sleeps. And it certainly peeked my interest! I loved all the 80s computers, and tech used in the trading process. It would be interesting to see how Gordon Gekko adapts to the 21st century.

My question is, is Shia's character what Gekko's character was in the original? Will Gekko be the Bud Fox in this movie, and betray Shia? What I couldn't get over is how much Shia looks like Charlie Sheen. I could picture Shia giving the same transformation from naive to arrogant business man.

The ending did leave me hanging. Did Oliver Stone envision a sequel someday when he had the time, and the right story?

It piqued my interest as well, since I didn't see the original, back in the day. ;) Just because Gordon was in jail doesn't mean he didn't learn some of technology. I'm betting that he has learned to adapt quite well. He's a predator.

We soon shall see.

How could I have made that spelling error! It took me a sec to wonder why you made that word stand out, and I just died laughing at myself.

It ended that way because that was where the story came to its emotional and thematic conclusion. I very much doubt a sequel was even thought of until the 2000s.

And no, Gekko will be Gekko. It's a been a long two decades, he'll have had time to get back on top.
