Wait a sec… can he even do that?

It's not defunct as long as my six-year-old LightWave dongle doesn't give out!! Seriously, Newtek really needs to rethink their copy protection mechanism. The idea that your plugins could suddenly become inert bits of software flotsam if a USB dongle suddenly were lost or damaged... is frickin' nuts.

Mine's sealed in corbomite, along with copies of my Hyper plugs. :)

CORBOMITE!

C'mon, Deg! You've GOT to give us the Fesarius vs. your new Enterprise!

AAMOF, the Fesarius is in the deg3D pipeline, my friend. ;)

So what ship is it? Is that the Star Trek: Online runabout?

Correct, dude, it's a design Ryan Dening did for STO, Sacagawea-Class Scout. I'm not a gamer so that's all I know (I just saw the art on SFM and had to build it as I thought is was sO cool).

I have been to the STO site looking for their version of it, but have yet to see it listed. Ryan said mine was the best he has seen it built.

I thought that most of the stuff done for that version of ST-OL was dumped when the project-shakeup occurred. Is that not correct?

ST-OL has been through several complete redesigns. At one point the team had Andrew Probert provide a lot of internal set-design for the Galaxy class, which was going to serve as a "hub" for the player, but I understand that, also, all went by the wayside.

I'm not into MMORPGs, so I won't really end up experiencing any of this anyway, but it's amazing to me how much good stuff was developed for this game and then trashed. The Sacajawea-class (which is, as I recall, a design intended to be a player's first ship... a one man "starship" in effect, which would have gotten replaced with larger, crewed ships as you would have progressed through the game) was a very creative way of doing this, I thought.

Thanks, guys, glad you like. :)

Cary, ya got me, I know nothing of STO and all that, just a model-monkey myself, eh.
