I HATE, HATE, HATE that Vulcan is destroyed. But now that it's done, I demand a reset.
Yes, it brought a huge emotional impact to this movie, but it fundamentally changes the core values of Star Trek. That aliens and humans can live in a peaceful wonderful world in the future.
Never bring it back. The destruction of Vulcan - and the aftermath of it - is going to be a big part of what makes this Trek relevant for a new generation. TOS had their Cold War parallels, we have ours. Smartest thing they could have done.
Now that's sheer rubbish. If you'd argued "that aliens and Vulcans can live", I might have agreed. But since Vulcans are not the only alien race close to humanity by a long shot, this just doesn't jibe.Yes, it brought a huge emotional impact to this movie, but it fundamentally changes the core values of Star Trek. Keep destroyed so that things mean something in this universe and actions have consequences. NO RESET BUTTON EVER. Thank you.

Aside from the face that the destruction of Vulcan has nothing to do whatsoever with our future peaceful existence.
