Hey all,

Lately I've been involved with this awesome Voyager podcast "The Delta Quadrant" that does episode-by-episode reviews of all of the VOY episodes.

I'm guesting on the show tomorrow and I'm so excited!!! I will be giving a shout-out to the awesome people on TrekBBS. :) I'm super pumped and just had to tell someone who watches (my co-workers and friends don't care all that much about Trek lol). Anyway I requested to be on one of my favorite episodes (Someone to Watch Over Me). I'll let you guys know when the podcast is out~~ Should be in about 2 weeks.

I'm freaking out...never done a show before, but I am sure it will be fun.

I suppose if there is anything I can talk on and on about it's Voyager and I am thankful I am going to be on for one of my absolute faves.

You're hoping they get about 50 comments saying "Get Captain Kathryn back on!" I'll guess. ;)

I don't know what the superstitions are in radio, so I'll just say break a leg.

LOL no. I sincerely meant if anyone from TrekBBS is interested in going on the show or any of the TrekMate shows, it's super fun to get involved with that group of podcasters. Come on, I'm not fishing for comments to get another spot. Besides, I'm terrified enough to do it this time lol.
 
From your original post, it sounds like this is just done in a recording studio, not broadast live, and without an audience. You should be fine. I had theatre experience in college and got approached to record radio commercials by a local ad agency. It wasn't scary at all, since it was just me and an engineer in a small studio and we did a few rehearsals and takes. I eventually wrote, engineered, and voiced my own spots for airplay.

You'll be fine. Just watch the episode as much as you want, take notes, and think about which parts you want to discuss. If there's a thematic element you want to emphasize, maybe focus your comments on that. I'm sure the crew will make sure you're comfortable.

If you're doing this remotely from home, then make sure you have a bottle of water nearby. And use the bathroom before you start. ;)
 
Podcast done! Was a bit nervous but I had a blast. They are a great bunch of people. If you like (or even don't like since they do criticize it too) Voyager you should totally check them out. They are hysterical and witty and all that good stuff.
 
Love the Delta Quadrant! I've heard them mention a Captain Kathryn on their feedback section and wondered if that was you...
 
Good to hear it went well. I've always found the word podcast unfortunate, because "pod" makes me think of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
 
Don't forget to mention Jonathan Frakes' contribution to VOYAGER, in one of your podcasts ...

Hey, JanewayRulz! Good seein' ya!

STAR TREK: The Next Generation can cure a rainy day - it's no wonder why its spin-offs referred to and relied upon it, again ... and again. But VOYAGER has its graces too.

Captain Kathryn has found yet another outlet to express her love of STAR TREK with - and I think it's wonderful. I, for one, plan on listening in ... :cool:

In a few weeks!!!! :) ill link it here when its up. I didnt talk much this time because I was nervous but they invited me to be on again so ill try to talk more next time lol. All in all it was super fun. Even if mines not up yet the podcast itself is awesome and I look forward to listening to it every Thursday. And if you comment on the episodes they are kind enough to read each and every comment on air. Great people over there as are great people here~ ♥

They have podcasts in their network for pretty much all the series!! Theres no shortage of TNG podcasts out there but there are only 2 that I know of that focus on Voyager so I sure was happy when I found it!! :)

I know it's not as "exciting," or whatever. You're always sweet to everybody and alot of people would miss reading your posts here, I'm sure. As to Tom & Rain on "Future's End," they were adorable together, you're absolutely right about that. It's a great episode, everything was just clicking. It's STAR TREK at its finest ...! Thanks, again.

LOL there is definitely no bling involved. Anyway, the two mediums are completely different and there is no reason why I would stop posting here! I didn't intend to give that impression. I just wanted to let all of the awesome Voyager fans know that there is a cool VOY podcast out there to listen to, that's all. Nothing more!

And yeah Future's End is one of my favorites. :):bolian:
