Voyager Continuity Mistake

I've been rewatching Voyager and was just reminded of something that's always bothered me. In the first season episode Projections, the Doctor is activated but it turns out that it's actually the hologram creator, Zimmerman. That's all fine and good...but it doesn't make sense. There's no way that Zimmerman would know that B'Elanna was part of the Voyager crew. He DEFINITELY wouldn't have known about Neelix. Nobody in the alpha quadrant would know about anything that happened in the Delta quadrant for another 3 years.

Does this bother anyone else ?

Voyager is consistently inconsistent that's for sure.

"Projections" is one of the better episodes though. One of the show's first attempts to get Picardo out of sickbay.
