Voyager: Architects of Infinity by Kirsten Beyer delayed?

I just got an eMail from amazon.de that the release date for my preorder of the ebook has been pushed back to September 26 2017 (from the original date of late March IIRC). I know things like this are always to be taken with a grain of salt, but I guess it makes sense with her involvement with Discovery and the series being delayed by a couple of months.

Just got the email myself about that (for the UK version).

Oh well, it's still on pre-order for me.

Well, given her current responsibilities, I can't say this is shocking. I'm sure it'll still be great when it's done!

I'd have been more surprised if it wasn't delayed.

I'm not surprised either. It's a bit of a bummer but I'd rather she take her time and make it good than just rush out a jumble of words like some of these other ST books I've read (not saying which ones!).

In the meantime, I'm doing catch up on Titan, The Fall and I'm thinking about starting The New Frontier line.

This is sad, but to be expected. Voyager books already didn't come out as fast as I would have liked. Plus they are already so far behind the other series. Though actually it's Voyager which has kept the appropriate pace since Destiny, and the other series which made crazy leaps and bounds.

Well, checked on Amazon USA and sure enough the release date for A of I has been changed to Sept. 26, 2017, so guess that's that, at least for now. But still looking forward to this new Voyager novel, naturally, and best of luck to Ms. Beyer of course.

So, what does this mean for the year's novel line up? Will the schedule be shuffled around and another novel pun in place, or will we just not have a novel released that month?

There's always the "in-case-of-emergency" option of doing physical reprints of ebooks, like last time there was a sudden hole to fill. There are still those last few CoE's left in the hopper.

I'm not surprised the Voyager book was pushed back for a September release because of Kirsten working on Discovery scripts and the novels too. I'm glad that Section 31 control is coming out in March next year.

Speaking of CoE, completely off-topic, has it ever been revealed how the USS da Vinci made Troyius disappear in Destiny?

Were all the slots for 2017 already filled? Perhaps with Control now moved forward, and the new Voyager novel pushed back, Pocket is trying to make sure the first Discovery tie-in can be released in may?

I wonder if they'll put some sort of "From one of the authors of Star Trek Discovery" or "Kirsten MF Beyer Co creator of the new TV series" tag line on the cover, next to "New York Bestselling Author". I doubt the MF will make it into any official product...

According to TheTrekCollective there are already 11 novels announced for 2017, including the Discovery tie-in, however only five of them have their release month already revealed.

^A staff writer is not a co-creator. That credit is reserved for the writers of the pilot script and/or the series bible. I believe Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman will be the credited creators of Discovery.

If she was going to get any kind of credit it would probably be "one of the writers of Star Trek: Discovery".

I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out.

Ironically, it's not necessarily off-topic; I think Conlon actually described it in one of the Voyager books?
Really? I thought that was meant to be a noodle incident which never gets covered in detail. And it's been a while since I've read Voyager, but I don't recall this.
