VOY Meets NCIS

Jeri

Any other NCIS fans in the VOY forum? I was sitting around watching alternately both shows the other day when this comparison occurred to me, with no particular rationale -- just kind of going by the Gibbs "gut." Nice ensemble casts. What do you think?

I love how Chakotay is a girl

And I wholeheartedly agree with B'Elanna being Abby. :adore:

And I definitely see Janeway as a female Gibbs.

Good choices :bolian:

I was HOPING you were going to include Colonel Mann, even though I couldn't remember her name. :bolian:

Unfortunately, that leads to certain story lines that "I" don't think I could handle between Janeway & the Borg Queen. :ack:

I see why . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Same actress. :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Golly, I am in a happy mood must go watch something depressing I am never this jubilant.:rofl::lol: Mostly joking.

But I agree, NO to those stories. :techman:

Yeah...I never could separate the queen from Colonel Mann the whole time her storyline was on. I love the actress; but she'll forever be the queen to me.

B'Ellana is a natural for Abby; but that leads to a DiNozzo/Abby pairing if carried on far in VOY, which is weird to contemplate. I could see Abby/McGee, but that would lead to B'Ellana/Kim :D. Pretty funny.

It was kind of amazing to me how these folks so easily lent themselves to the VOY cast, and VOY of course came before.

Gibbs and Jenny had a real romantic backstory, which would be interesting for J/C fans.

NCIS always puts me in a good mood for some reason. Probably the humor; it's a funny show sometimes.

P.S. Oh yeah -- I always had this suspicion that Vance bobs his ears.

On my third time watching the '09 Star Trek, I kept wondering... "WHO does this Kirk remind me of?" and then I realize -- he's Tony DiNozzo... IN SPACE!

I am contemplating Roxann Dawson in Abby's pigtails...hmm.

Now we're discussing interesting things! :bolian:

After Kes's "exit" and after losing my favorite series, there was a void which had to be filled with something.

NCIS filled that void. I really like the series! My current favorite!

After Voy's exit, JAG filled that "void" for me... so when JAG left I turned my nose up at NCIS for a LONG time.... LUCKILY I got over it!

Maybe we should let B'Elanna be ZIVA and Seven be ABBY.

It lets the P/T'ers be happy, AND the J/7ers be happy!

Poor Kes, she gets screwed whether its Voy OR NCIS (Cait is the agent before Ziva, right?)

Oh... and as for J/Cers being happy....just REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO JENNY!!!!!! :wah:
(I think my fav exchange between Gibbs and Jenny was when he was coming out of a coma and he wondered if she was an exwife.)

Cait was the agent before Ziva, right; I just picked Kes for her, because both she and Cait left earlier than halfway through. They were both beautiful, capable and loved, too.

Yes, there is that very sad fact about Jenny; in one scenario, Chakotay and she meet the same fate. Don't want to spoil too much, though, in case someone reading becomes an NCIS fan. You wouldn't regret it. :)

I chose B'Elanna for Abby for her mad technical skillz; and Seven for Ziva because she also came in halfway through the series -- and she kicks butt like former Mossad operative Ziva.

Not saying the Borg are the Mossad, but they are both fearful organizations and left a serious stamp on the characters. But you're right in that Seven has mad technical skillz, which Ziva doesn't have; but Ziva is very resourceful, as well.

Contrary to the experience most TV shows have, NCIS started out modestly popular and gained in popularity every season, until now, when it's the #1 drama on television. It's kind of amazing. A great chemistry come together.

Honestly, I didn't really like when they killed off Kate.

OK, it was obvious that the actress wanted to leave for family reasons so they didn't have to come up with some constructed crap about "we can't write for the character" but kill her off was unnecessary. She could have left for some other reason. I also liked her better than Ziva. Nothing wrong with Ziva but Kate was a better character.

Jenny was brought in later and was a bit outside the main cast for me. She sort of came and went.

But the rest of the crew are long-time favorites now.

In fact, just like Voyager I took an immediate liking for the NCIS characters. I used to watch JAG regularily and I remember the episode "Ice Queen" when Gibbs and the gang showed up for the first time. I immediately thought "wow, these are great characters, I hope they will show up more in this series" and to my great surprise the announcer told us that NCIS was a new series with Gibbs and the others and that my local channel would start to air it the coming week. So they did and I've been a fan since then.
