I tell myself double votes don't show the preference among the 2.

One vote kept me from voting for myself in every category! Which can be the use of the second vote. It's hard to be objective. Somehow, it's either "never vote for yourself" or "use the second vote if you're proud of your stuff" (possibly the first vote if you're very proud), but I find it hard to view my entries objectively alongside the others.

Do you guys feel you do yourselves justice?

Nah, it's not noble. I think these contests are just a game and don't take all these votes too seriously. Voting for oneself is simply no fun imho.

I've got a short memory span. I remember thinking that 5 entries equals 2 votes just before voting but I still forgot to vote for two. Perhaps it's old age hitting in...

I used to vote for my own avatars, that I felt especially proud of, before but after a while I didn't feel as pleased if my vote was the deciding vote and I won. So, I decided to never vote for myself anymore for that reason. But sometimes it's tempting to use that one vote for avatars if I'm very pleased with the result. I don't think there's anything wrong with voting for oneself.

I used to take this contest very seriously before, I'm a very competitive person, but now I enter mostly for fun and for the pleasant atmosphere in these threads.

He's (half?) Sudanese but actually does look a little like he's from the Med-area in that icon. Maybe it's how I played with the lighting.

I've not seen him in any of those, worth checking out? I liked Syriana and his role in Merling.

Yeah, yeah, I heard. Do you have to be so specific? It's not like a couple of recent borders will change the ethnic composition of the population much.

I like handsome Arab types, okay? Half-English or not. Plenty of them all around the Mediterranean sea.
And Latins.
I'm also often partial to the American section of Hispanics as well as the Mediterranean one.
And I don't overlook Blacks.
Asians I gave up on long ago when I realized I never had any success with them, for some reason.

In a nutshell, if I have to choose arbitrarily between dark or fair, it'll always be dark.

It's all just for fun. Even though I still like winning.
If I wasn't lazy we would still have trophy avs, but I just haven't felt like making them.

Also just because you may vote for two doesn't mean you have to. If you just want to vote for one that's fine too.

I don't vote for myself because it's more fun, for me anyway, to look at everyone elses creations and vote for other folks.

Yeah, voting for yourself is tempting, but I never do it--feels like 'cheating.' But in this contest it wouldn't have mattered for me... two of mine haven't gotten any votes at all!
