I just noticed something about my own entry. Does anyone else think it looks as if Jimmy Stewart has three Wright Whirlwind engine cylinders growing from the side of his head?

Looks like we may have a winner. Last chance to get your votes in. 24 hours and counting . . .

auntiehill, you win the cigar! If you don't smoke, you can have the cash. The next TV/Media avatar contest is yours.

Thanks again to all who participated!

Yeah, now, not two days ago when the contest runner announced the winner.

Same thing happens when I run a poll in the SciFi contest - I say when I'll announce, folks have that long to vote, and then after its done, more folks show up & vote before a new contest goes up.

Ah, OK. I guess the poll wasn't set to close automatically

I guess I was one of the people voting after it was called. I was offline almost all week, so I didn't get a chance to show up until today. Just saw the poll, saw it wasn't closed, so I voted without reading any further (didn't want to see what other people voted for beforehand, as to not to let that influence my own choices).

I know some people don't know it, but as Lonemagpie suggested, one can fix the days after which the poll will close automatically. It does help avoid these kind of misunderstandings.

Sorry about the confusion. I'll remember that next time.
