Poll Vote for your top five modern companions

We haven't had one of these for a while so with talking about Donna earlier I thought I'd put one together. I thought I'd keep this to the modern era, if only because I'd be here all day trying to input all the classic companions (not to mention trying to determine who counts and who doesn't!)

Simple enough, pick your top five and let's see who gets the most votes (and just as interestingly who gets the least.)

My five are: Donna, Amy, Rory, Bill and River (in that order) Picking fifth place was the trickiest, Clara or Jack could have easily pipped River to fifth place (and on another day still might.)

Hopefully I've covered most picks. I doubted anyone wanted to vote for Adam but Other is there for the likes of Jacqui or Wilf or Professor Jericho (does Missy count?)

Tough call. My top five is the same as Starkers but in a different order:

Amy
Donna
Rory
River
Bill

With the fifth also being a tough decision, but between Bill, Nardole, Yaz, Jack, and Wilf. Might have gone with Wilf he had been his own choice but he's not quite a proper companion (although he gets to do more with Big Finish).

And honestly, I love them all to varying degrees with the exception of Rose and Adam.

I guess I give away which years I loved the most.

As far as I'm concerned, Wilf was a companion, so at least one of my votes went to him.

I liked Rory and Jack. I also chose "Other" because didn't Rose's mother travel in the TARDIS at least once?

And I don't see Sarah Jane there... I think she should count.

The poll didn't forbid wishful thinking, so I'd have liked to see the Doctor's daughter travel with her father, and I've got this fanfic idea running around my head that's a crossover between the Tenth Doctor and Downton Abbey.

Easy.

River, Amy, Rory, Donna, Bill (with Graham a close runner up). Pretty much in that order, with the first three far ahead of any of the others. (My most detested / disliked / loathed companions are equally easy to choose, but that's another poll altogether. )

Sarah Jane is my favourite ever companion but I don't consider her to be a "modern" companion for the purposes of this poll.

Interesting stuff so far. I'm not too surprised to see Donna Amy and Rory up there, and it's good to see Bill. I am kinda surprised Rose and Clara aren't doing better.

Sarah Jane would literally be #1 - #5 for the classic era, but she was more of a guest star in the nuWho era, so I could see not including her on this list.

Even Wilf was technically a one-timer, but one of my favorite characters too.
