May I suggest, Skywalker, that you set a time Wednesday at your convenience to declare a winner? A week of voting is kind of long for an av contest. I suggest keeping voting open 2-3 days.

Eh? Oh, I wasn't planning on keeping it open all week (I just wasn't sure when exactly to close the actual poll). I was thinking of going with Wednesday anyway. Though to be honest, it looks to me like HopefulRomantic probably has this one in the bag already.

Seriously though, I never count my chickens. I've seen lead changes at literally the last minute.

Okay, consider the poll closed at 9 PM Eastern Time tonight. If the score doesn't change by then, consider HopefulRomantic the winner.

If I ever run another av contest, I'll make sure to set the poll for three days instead of seven. Or is two the more usual number?

I always give people three days to stop in to vote. that way if they're tied up (I hear some people around here have lives ) it still gives them a chance to root for their favorites.

And that leaves 4 days for people to create avs for the next one so we're doing one a week consistently.

Well, we're only a little under 2 hours from Skywalker's scheduled declaration of the winner (as I predicted previously, the lead hasn't changed)....
