Welcome to the Doctor Who Avatar Contest voting thread!

Please vote for two avatars. Don't vote for yourself.

Here's the breakdown of names (with the respective avatar to make it easier for you to post who you have voted for):

Chris 3123

Haggis and Tatties

Spaceman Spiff

Starkers

I voted for Chris 3123 because I thought that was a pretty clever call back to "The Empty Child"/"The Doctor Dances" and for Haggis and Tatties because, while I haven't seen that story, the moment does sound pretty bizarre.

But really, with only 4 entrants, is it really necessary to give us 2 options?

Chris, because I entered an animated verison of that in an earlier contest.

Spiff
because it is THE perfect Who avatar.

Chris 3123 for one of my favorite humorous moments in Series 4.
Spaceman Spiff for a clever reference to one of my favorite comedy sketches.

Spiff, and that's it.

I honestly didn't find either of the two others funny at all (and I don't even get the last one).

You probably have to be British to get the last one. But it's still funny. :)

So what is the reference? Can ya clue in a clueless Yank?

Hi, I knew it'd be too vague. The actor being fitted into his Ice Warrior costume is Bernard Bresslaw, he was a regular actor in the Carry On series of British comedy films. Ice Warriors are from mars hence carry on mars...

Chris, Spaceman and Starkers because modesty prevents me from voting for myself....and there are only 4 entries so why not spread the love.

Then shouldn't it be, "Carry on, Martian?"

Possibly, although I don't think there was a hard and fast rule when it came to Carry on Naming conventions. There were a lot of Doctor/Nurse/Cabbie etc but there was camping rather than camper etc...

It would have been moderately more amusing though perhaps (I could have got 2 votes!_

I didn't realize the poll was set with a closing time. So it's my win, then, I guess.

Is anyone keeping a list of past themes?

Actually, I believe I've thought of one that I don't recall seeing. And after searching the forum, I'm pretty sure.
