Voayger figures

So why didn't the make alot of Voyager action figures like they did with The Original Series, Next Generation, and Deep Space Nine?

From my own collection & memory, they made action figures for -

Janeway
Chakotay
Chakotay as a Maquis
Tuvok
Torres
Torres as a Klingon
Paris
Paris as an Evolved Humanoid
Harry
Harry and Species 8472
Neelix
Neelix as a Security Officer (Spencer's Exclusive)
The EMH
Kes
Seven of Nine as a Partial Drone
Seven of Nine (Target Exclusive, I think)
Joe Carey
Seska
Seska as a Cardassian
A Kazon
A Swarm Alien
Barcley
Borg Queen (I think this was an Alice Krige, though)

I think part of the problem was that the crew never changed much - no uniform variations, for starters. Another part may be the loss of the Playmates contract for Star Trek action figures durin' or shortly after the show's run.

As for why there aren't many VOY figures from the folks whoever has the contract now, I have no clue, but I for one was not thrilled with the Odo figure I bought since the back of his uniform was all messed up.

i remember looking high and low for Voyager toys back when the series began and could never find them. i think the Playmates electronic Voyager is still kinda hard to find.

I think it depends when the figures are produced. Since Voyager came third, the toy line was starting to run out of steam so they only caught the tail edge - and this has happened twice now.

The movies had the same problem. Until DST did TWoK figures a couple of years ago there were few figures from that era too. Mego did some TMP figures (Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Decker, Ilia, Scotty and a few aliens) in the seventies, plus Playmates did the main crew from TMP (Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Ilia Probe, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov - not sure about Decker but defo no Chapel, Rand, or DiFalco) in the nineties. There were almost no TWoK movie era figures from Playmates (Saavik, plus Kirk, Chekov, & Scotty from Generations).

The same thing has happened with DST Voyager figures too. They did the main DS9 figures but found a lack of interest if you can believe it in doing a borg wave including Seven of Nine. They felt that if there was insufficient interest in the borg and Seven then the rest of the Voyager crew were a waste of time!

That a real shame, Voyager had some good aliens and starfleet officers, starships, and Crewmen to make into toys

Ah, the Playmates figures. I collected those fairly religiously - I even have some of the special lines, like a Cadet Riker and Troi figure. I remember never being able to get a Torres figure, at least not the regular Torres - I have a 'full Klingon' B'Elanna figure, but not the standard issue version.

The lack of figures was likely was due to the toy line dying out right around Voyager's midpoint. The last Playmates figure I can remember getting was a Seven in the silver catsuit that she wore in promotionals.

i never could find a Seven figure when those came out either. actually i can't remember buying very many Trek toys after First Contact, at least not till Enterprise.

This is true. I don't remember there being all that many VOY toys in the stores around my house. I always wanted the Playmates Voyager. Lack of funds and being 13 years old back then was a problem too.

I remember seeing (partial Borg) 7of9 at Kaybee toys store. I remember they wanted 15 dollars for it

You missed Seven in silver catsuit
Seven in purple catsuit (Wizard Toyfare/Entertainment Earth exclusive)
Janeway from "Flashback" (Toyfare(?)exclusive)
Vidiian
The Borg Queen wasn't part of the Voyager line.

Playmates also made 9inch dolls of the crew, except the shorter ones like Neelix & Kes.

Are you sure?
I was the manager of a KB Toys for 6 years during that period, the smaller figures were never that high in price. The 9 inch dolls were. Seven only came as partial Borg in the smaller action figures.

Damn! Can't believe I forgot the Vidiian, especially since I have one! Geez...

And I think I saw the Flashback Janeway once, but the guy wanted too much money for it. And I'd rather have Flashback Tuvok, anyway, but they didn't make one.

I agree.
A "Flashback" Tuvok would have been way better.
They way either put him with Voyager AND older TOS figures and Sulu's crewmen. It gives the figure more play value.

Also if you're good at art and sculpting, using a Swarm alien body & Tosk head.
A little midnight blue paint, some super-sculpty.
You can create a Hirogen figure.:techman:
That's what I did.

Mutant Tom Paris head & Kirk from "Tholian Web" body creates a Malon too. ;)

Yeah, I'm no good at that kind of thing...wish I were, though, 'cause I've seen pics of what others can do.

I used Saavik and Janeway bodies with Ilia, Rand and Lwaxana heads but they foiled me by never producing most of the main crew.

Really? I remember KB Toys action figures were always expensive, but the figure inside the package were always in mint condition along with the package. I remember I had ten dollars, I couldn't afford to buy the figure.
