Virtual SDCC AtHome Con might give a few answers

Maybe one of us can get a hold of a Red Angel suit and go to the future to find out the S3 air date?
NO SPOILERS THOUGH! :shifty:

According to the graphic at the end of the Discovery panel: “new season 2020”. So after Lower Decks in October I assume

Yeah, the question and answer portion was weird, it was asked as if "what do you want for your characters' future, but don't say anything about season 3". Kind of disappointing overall, really.

The Lower Decks stuff was awesome to me, though. Very excited! Now onto watching the Picard portion...

No surprise. When they were focusing on Picard, they kept the focus on Picard. Now they're focusing on Lower Decks, so they're keeping the focus there. When it's Discovery's turn, they'll keep the focus on Disco Season 3.

I'm picking up on their pattern now.

Well, they did do a quick mention of "Strange New Worlds" in the ST: D portion; plus after the initial opening by Senequa Martin-Green, they introed Michelle Yeoh first - so yeah, they did confirm SNW - and I believe with Michelle Yeoh being introed first (and I believe it was done a sign they will still be doing the Section 31 series with her in the lead, once (whenever it happens) studio production starts up again, and they can work out a schedule withe everything else Michelle Yeoh has lined up (read the "Crazy Rich Asians" sequel film).

In this market its probably a good strategy.

Since I didn't really care to watch this, I am glad you mentioned that Yeoh was on this. This does add to the likelihood that S31 is still a thing. Scheduling popular stars is going to be an issue across the industry once things resume, especially when resumption varies by region.

Sec 31 is still a go. Discovery will film in February (according to plan) and Picard in September.

Plans for September are very tentative I'm told. My hope is that some productions might film in a "bubble" like some sports leagues are playing.

I have faith that DSC S4 will start shooting in February, because they're shooting in Canada.

PIC S2 on the other hand, will be shot in California. One of the main hot-spots for Covid-19. And because of the way King Orange has bungled things... I wouldn't put too much stock into this.

Disco filming in February is somewhat possible, definitely a lot more believable than the October filming date kicked around in rumours earlier in the week, but it still wouldn't surprise me if it didn't meet that. It all depends on how Corona shakes in the fall.

Picard filming in September? Sadly, that seems mere fantasy right now.
