Vilix'pran

Bry_Sinclair

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Ensign/Lieutenant Vilix'pran has been mentioned several times over the course of DS9 (thanks to his over-active buds). But I wonder what others think he and his species look like.

In the episode where O'Brien has to take Kirayoshi to work with him, Jake mentions about babysitting for Pran, during which time he had to make sure their wings didn't get tangled. SInce then, I have always had visions of a humanoid bat-like species.

Anyone got any thoughts?

I imagined something more like Tinker Bell. Multiple long thin wings that could get tangled in the first place, especially if the children were wrestling and rolling about on the floor as children will do.

The "Pran" species might be a wire thin body type, with their wings moving like those of a humming bird they could be capable of flight, or they could be flight-less.

:)

^ Yes, I saw the wings as being dragonfly-like, only a bit tougher. Maybe it's the aquatic birth that gave me that idea (Vilix'pran buds into a specially-constructed pond, if I recall). I see the "Prans" as thin, long-legged non-bipeds with wings that dry out and stiffen when they leave the water (before then they're still wet and can get tangled).
