As far as we know, the skylight on the bridge could be the emergency hatch. Every starship seems to have it. And even if it isn't the emergency hatch, they could still be in danger if it shatters.
The best one by far is the phaser death suffered by Lt. Commander Remmick at the end of Conspiracy.
And it was fairly quick. I don't see why Remmick deserved to get his head blown off but otherwise I was not bothered by it.
Maybe Kirk should have hacked the emergency hatch instead of the shields in TWOK. The battle would have been over faster.
Genesis, the helmsman mauled to death by his crew mate.
You also wonder how many crew were eaten by Worf.
Picard means that the 2 categories "safe" and "accounted for" include everyone. The dead guy is only in the "accounted for" category, everyone else is in both categories. It's not like Picard is using only one category, "safe and accounted for".Yeah, that episode where Riker has sleeping problems and is abducted by the gigantic grasshoppers. There's this one guy who left his blood behind and winds up back on the ship stone dead. Captain Picard completely forgets the poor sod at the end the episode merrily pronouncing 'everyone safe and accounted for'.
He sounds very self satisfied at the end despite the explicit loss of the crewman. Picard's relieved tone in the log seems out of sync with the overall tenure of the episode.Picard means that the 2 categories "safe" and "accounted for" include everyone. Is it any worse than literally laughing about Picard's saddle at the end of Starship Mine, even though it is a stark reminder that Picard was too annoyed by the now DEAD "Hutch" to literally stay in there talking with him one minute longer? He sounds very self satisfied at the end despite the explicit loss of the crewman. The Starship Mine thing is worse. Poor old Hutch. Is it any worse than literally laughing about Picard's saddle at the end of Starship Mine, even though it is a stark reminder that Picard was too annoyed by the now DEAD "Hutch" to literally stay in there talking with him one minute longer?
"Oh, every experienced rider has his own saddle" In other words. Hahaha, oh that captain & his excuse making, & hanging us all out to dry, because he didn't want to socialize with an annoying host, who probably deserves more respect since he died in the line of duty
I know... Right? I actually didn't think Hutch was all that terrible a guy. He just seemed lonely, stuck out there on an outpost. Hell, the flagship swings by with noted officers like Picard & Data? That's kind of a big deal. You barely know the guy. Cut him some slack. Of course all he's got in common with you is small talk stuff, & then he steps up and catches a blast to boot? They should all feel like crap for mocking himThe Starship Mine thing is worse. Poor old Hutch.![]()
