VERY ORIGINAL MARKETING GIMMICK TO PROMOTE STAR TREK 11

STARTREK11

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
I just had a very, very brilliant ORIGINAL idea to promote ST11 for very low cost.

It is so original that I claim exclusive copyright to this original idea.

Abrams should release still photo's/images from the set and rushes BUT encrypt them first with VARYING levels of encryption, thus posing a challenge worldwide to all people to get the images decrypted.

Just think about it.

Think of the buzz created.

Every nerd, geek, mummy's boy, magazine and newspaper will publish these obscured photo's which need to be decrypted to view.In some photos you would JUST barely be able to see something but never actually be clear about it.

What would be the point? The only people who really have the expertise to do it are geeks, and if the Quinto as Spock pictures are any indication, we'll go nuts for em anyways.

Spy cam is the wave of the future, STARTREK11. It's such a good publicity coup it almost looks intentional.

The point is it will INVOLVE people, like a puzzle game.

I guess it's kind of interesting but the point is that, much like a teaser in front of a 'Menagerie' screening, it seeks to involve people who are going to be buying a ticket anyway. I'm sure there will be some kind of viral marketing going on, but I think it'll probably be a little more user friendly than this.

The producers of "the dark knight" already did it with the first picture of the joker.

STARTREK11 is Dan Brown on crack?

Nonsense. Many things STARTREK11 say carry a grain of truth. Like the film being produced by J.J. Abrams of Lost fame.

It's been done.

I'd rather wait until it's released than screw around trying to decrypt photos, thanks all the same. The majority of people in the world would never be able to do this, making it pointless in the extreme.

Ah yes, encryption, the sure way to make sure the non-hardcore fanbase wants to see the movie. Nothing like breaking a little AES-256 bit encryption with my morning coffee to get me excited about the film.

But in fairness, STARTREK11, you are almost a viral advertising campaign for the movie at this point. I might not agree with a lot of what you say, but hey, that's what the internet is for.

/I have also decided you're either Rick Berman or Brannon Bragga. Which one I suppose will have to wait until the premiere.

Oh my! Here's an idea that's never been done before. A scratcher game on certain soft drinks! If you get a vulcan IDIC, you get a free URL with a BONUS trailer! Two vulcan IDICs and you can send away for a t-shirt, with $14 S/H fees. Each scratcher has a letter, and if you can spell out, "STAR TREK LIVES" you win a trip to the premiere showing!

It's NEVER been done before! Everrrrrrr!

On a serious note, I had "GOD_ILLA" years ago, and I had no idea a friend of mine had Z. I believe the prize was $1M. If I had known, I would have given him $125,000 for the Z.
