I'm in the middle of watching this now and I like it more every time I watch it but I do come away wondering if it really was all in Hoshi's head or not. In my own headcannon the events happened as shown.

BTW did the transporter move her birthmark? I know it's not a major blunder but if it can do that shouldn't that concern people? It could have been an artery.

It's not a blunder at all, the birthmark stuff happened during "not really real" section.

It was.

Oh damn....... I was hoping that somehow it all actually happened.

It's still one of my favourite episodes.

While I'm not a fan of the classic “it was all just a dream” resolution in fiction, I really did enjoy “Vanishing Point”, because I'm a fan of Hoshi and the situation she finds herself in somehow struck me as something that could happen to me too, were I to live in the world of Star Trek. The fear of isolation, being alone and no-one really believing your story is something that I think most people can find relatable as it happens to all of us in our everyday lives sometimes.

Even if the events "didn't happen" I feel that whenever something like this occurs in fiction that it would feel real to the character and unsettle them for a little while, even if we don't see it.

I really liked Vanishing Point I recently re-watched it again.I think was kind of a mystery to what Hoshi experienced being in the transporter beam. I thought the aliens were interesting looking.
