Erica learns her partner, Malik, is a Visitor and must fight for her life – literally – to stop Anna from finding out she's Fifth Column. Meanwhile, Anna learns that Malik is missing and orders Ryan to find her, while Lisa realizes her body is beginning to change, causing her to become more and more like her mother.

I like this show because they pretty much are letting us know what the V's agenda is and not dragging it out season after season. I hate shows that just give you a small taste of what the "big picture" is, but you never really can put it all together until the last episode.

Which is why the concept of "novels for television" is ultimately doomed to failure in the United States. So many viewers want instant gratification.

Me, while I'm enjoying V, one problem I have with it is actually that they've put too many cards face-up on the table too early. They should have kept the mystery going longer, especially after adding Jane Badler to the mix. Then again, even last year a lot of people were predicting a short lifespan for V, so maybe the writers realize this.

Unfortunately I'm not able to watch it tonight due to work. The Internet, however, is my friend... ;)

It doesn't matter that V is giving us answers right away since they are lame and predictable. It is just the same tired formula every week with this show--two course corrections and two producerse have yielded very little in the way of improvement.

The whole religion angle isn't fully realized and comes off silly. The fact that Erica and her merry band of resistance fighters haven't gotten caught yet just shows that the Vs are idiots and the writer fiat is in full force. The actors are meh with the only exception being the always engrossing Morena Baccarin. The rest I could care less about--it is like a whole cast of Chakotays--even Elizabeth Mitchell who I enjoy is just getting really shitty writing ruining her character. I could care less about the teen romance between Tyler and Lisa. The show is late in its attempts to be socially relevant the way nBSG was. It has a very been there done that been there done that better vibe to it.

I tried to give it a shot but not even Jane Badler can keep me. I'm done and will be watching the series finale of LUX instead.

This show is pretty much crap, but I can't quit watching. I just enjoy Morena Baccarin too much and her performance with this character.

I'm honest when I say I want to see Tyler die horribly and all the good guys in this show. Go V's!!!!

Is it wrong that I found Rekha Sharma being chained up in that sexy blue top to be erotic?

The first episode I've got to see all the way through this season. I thought it was enjoyable enough. I don't think destroying souls makes much sense and I'm sad to see Rekha Sharma go, but for the most part I enjoyed the character interaction and I did feel like the show is moving forward.

Been wanting to see Diana on the show, but I wasn't super impressed. I don't get why Anna keeps her locked up instead of having killed her long ago, also why Diana seems to be walking around and content with her lot. Also don't get why Diana's just giving Anna advice without trying to get out. Perhaps this has happened on previous shows and I've missed it, but something about how they are using Diana is off.

I do like how they've added a scientists to the mix, but I can agree with a previous poster that the Fifth Column is getting away with too much (to be fair, so did the originals, but at least they got captured every now and then). Not so sure about the FX with the widened mouths. I think they can do a better job with that.

I did like how Anna used Youtube to smear Father Jack. So, all in all, a decent ep. IMO.

I gotta agree the whole "souls" plot is stupid. I do like that they are using humans to reproduce and would like to see how they are going to do it. I am also interested in what Tyler is supposed to be. I like the angle they are taking where Anna's daughter is getting close to Tyler's Mom and Tyler is getting close to Anna.

I liked how they are putting Tyler and Anna together and Erica and Anna's daughter too.

The business with the souls? Hilarious! Ingenious! They're trying to figure out what makes us what, and they've settled on the most intangible thing, and they don't realize it. They have all this technology and all this knowledge... they're supposedly so dispassionate, but they've decided that what makes us have emotion is the soul, so they're going to remove it. God, what a great idea! Watch the brainy aliens FAIL. It's really one of the best subplots I've seen.

What a poorly written episode.

Also, my little nitpick that I always notice took place in this episode -- where the single camera takes multiple angles and cuts it together for you.

Ryan continues to be such an idiot. Why does he never tell the Fifth Column people anything? If he really wants to take Anna down, he should come clean with them that she's holding his daughter over him and they could use him to plant disinformation.

Anna is shrewed, though. I liked the way they had her discredit Father What's-his-name.

Agreed – barely. My interest is tempered by it hanging on the ragged edge of stupidity. As long as it's about the Visitor's inability to really grasp humanity, it will work. But if they ever take it seriously – that is, if the writers do have the Vs succeed in finding the soul or something – it will become preposterous. And I wouldn't put it past this creative team.

What I do like about it now is it shows the lengths Anna will go to avoid taking responsibility for her own failings: all this "human emotion" business must be the result of some intangible, outside force that happens to live in human flesh, and of course they can build a machine will allow them to suck it out. Because heaven forbid it be intrinsic to humans or – God forbid! – Visitors. Because then the Vs might have to take a hard look in the mirror; they might not like what they find.

The show's still rather dumb but it's more entertaining than last season. At least it's feels faster paced. Last season was sooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooow.

So does Erica not care that her son is getting his freak on with an alien lizard insect?

This soul thing is just driving me insane with how stupid it is.

I think how the show is playing off opposites in that Anna's daughter is now aligned with Erica and Eric's son is now aligned with Anna. It's like they traded kids.

The one thing (ever since the original series) that has bugged me about V is the whole "OMG, they're lizards underneath so they're EVIL" angle. The fact that showing they're not really human is somehow proving they want to destroy humanity. Now they do have that agenda (or their leaders do), but isn't it understandable that an alien species would try to assume human form if they made contact with us?

Look at how we as a species have treated our own just because their skin was a shade darker.

Well except on cable, which is half of all TV watching now. On network TV, yeah, probably a non-starter.

I like the way the characters just flat-out torture their prisoner with zero whining and crying about whether it makes us no better than the V's blah blah blah. When the evil alien lizards are trying to turn Earth into a rape camp, plus de-soul the entire human race, I think it's time to toss the Geneva Convention into the trashheap for the time being. :rommie:

The soul-extraction machine with the magic massaging fingers wins the prize for Stupidest Looking Sci Fi Tech Ever. The actors and crew should all win awards for getting through that scene without falling down laughing.

This show needs Jack Bauer instead of this retarded resistance. 5 minutes with the lizard queen would convince her to leave the planet, never to return and to warn other aliens not to bother with conquering Earth.

I thought it was dumb looking too, at first... then I realized it looks like the torture machine from the infamous NIN Happiness in Slavery video! :guffaw:

That would be appropriate given the show's depiction of torture was about as accurate as 24. I particularly loved having an FBI agent believe the first information Malik offered was reliable.

I thought this was a really good episode myself. I enjoyed the storyline with Anna going after Jack, and I'm kinda curious where they're going with the soul thing. I'm still not sure if we're supposed to take it seriously, or if it's just that the V's are clueless about humans, which is kinda surprising if they're hoping. If you're gonna breed with another species you'd probably want to know about things like souls. And I'm another one who likes the switching of kids with Anna and Lisa, and Erica and Tyler.
