Jumping from Cylon to alien lizard, that's my boy! This show definitely needed a hot guy in the John May role, and they sure have delivered!

But they still need to bring back Alan Tudyk.

I was hoping for Marc Singer, Robert Englund, or Michael Ironside coming in as John May. What better way to connect with the fans of the original V, who may feel somewhat ALIENated by the changes made to the series. But, whatever, like Hollywood gives a shit about the option of the fans of the original series.

Pretty much. This show has to get another season or else where will genre show refugees get work? Since Tory is on the series already I'm really hoping she and Trucco get some fun scenes together.

If I were in charge, I'd make them impressive - definitely not cute - but not overly eeevil looking. More iguana than komodo dragon. I wouldn't worry about making them skinny enough that the "human suits" make sense. Skinny lizards just wouldn't be scary enough. I'd technobabble the problem away by deciding that the human suits actually replace the top layer of the lizard skin and muscle, which also explains how removing the human suit is a traumatic and possibly fatal process.

Nostalgic cameos by the original cast would be cute, but not essential. Ultimately, the new show has to establish its own identity, not rely on callbacks to the past.

Casting alone isn't going to save this series. It's got to forge a story that is truly unique and compelling. And it hasn't come anywhere near close enough ... yet.
