USS Zumwalt - ship of the future!

Bud Brewster

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
This is an awesome ship!

I found some impressive pictures of this amazing warship, the USS Zumwait. Take a look at them folks, and then read the article at the link Pye-rate provided above.

It looks like a submarine, but it isn't. It's a super-hitech destroyed with stealth capabilities and sizable helicopter deck.

The article that included the picture below states that the design is somewhat controversial, and it includes this quote:

Prior to the ship's long awaited release, Naval architect Ken Brower opined that if the ship were in heavy seas, it would essentially "roll over." However, a 1/4 size version of the USS Zumwalt was constructed and it proved seaworthy.

These closeups of scale models show the incredible helicopter deck of the Zumwait.

Click on the picture below to read an article called "U.S.S. Zumwalt: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know". It discusses the ships ability to fire lasers and rail guns!

The next two pictures are are of the USS Independence, a stealth ship based on similar concepts.

At my first glance of it, I flashed on images of the ironclads.
Revolutionary in their own right!!!!

That's exactly what I thought the first time I saw it. It's ironic that deflecting radar waves and deflecting cannonballs requires the same basic shape.
