USS Kiray NX-100-AJ

thesovereignman

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Icarus Class NX-300

This ship is now named after the son of Daedalus, as the ship is derived from advances made after the Daedalus. can't change the thread title though

This ship is supposed to be much older than the Augusta, and about 1/2 the size. Sort of an in between from the Daedalus to the Constitution. I would imagine a top speed of no more than warp 6. The ship was taken out of service, because of it's vulnerability to heat.

I'm actually quite fond of the design, and it needs a bit of work. After I'm done, I'm going to try to make a bigger, more refined verson. I'm trying to make this one look a bit clunky, as it is supposed to be an early prototype. The later version will probably be mostly a kitbash of my Augusta.

here's more pictures. Lowered the neck, added sensor dome, added bridge, made the model a few shades darker.

Here's the kiray with a Daedalus mockup

Some more pictures

NX-0100 Mayflower, pretty much the same as the Kiray/Icharus except without the secondary hull, and with older looking engines. it's smaller than Kiray as well.

NX-0200 Daedalus

Starfleets first experiment with a round hull design. based on Johnnymuffintops design.

Here's some more pictures of the Icharus. It's engine was modified to make it match NX100 Mayflower more than the NX1600 Augusta. It's deflector dish was changed to a more traditional design as well :)

First Renders:

NX0200 Daedalus
Having trouble with the dome. Even though it looks fine in wings, it looks all funky in the render. Here are my tests

I moved the bridge up to see what was going on underneath

NX0300 Icarus

The damned saucer doesn't show up :( I think I'm going to stick with povray

I got the saucer to show up :)

NX0100 Mayflower

this one came out ok :)

This is my first test of using a material I got from Ozylot, and boy, it looks spectacular! I'm going to be tweeking this all day tomorrow to try to get it to look just right :D

Forgive the rest of the image, it's kind of funky atm.

Here is a couple more renders.

Next to do, escape pods, more lights, and finally windows. This ship will determine the scaling of all of the others. the airlocks were too big in that render, they will be smaller next time.

Nothing? Nobody? Oh well, here's some more shots of the Daedalus:

Render of the front
Darkened version of the back
A brightened up version as to see the shuttlebay better
a less severely brightened version
