USS Coeur de Lion Data Sheets (also WIP)

I love it! I've always loved your kitbashes, especially the Terrell class.

What software are you using, and, what's Number 1 in the series?

Illustrator drives me nuts. But I learned on Corel first, back on V3, and only tried to pick up Illustrator and PS lately for work. PS is okay - better then Corel PhotoPaint in a lot of things, but not in some others. But Illustrator is just whacko.

I'm an Adobe guy through and through. Started out in Corel as a kid twenty years ago, but learned all my craft in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. And Freehand. I miss Freehand.

Sorry, @Forbin...

I learned vector graphics (properly) in animation school using Illustrator. I learned CorelDraw from my ex. I never looked back.

I do use PS, though. Hate PhotoPaint.

Then again, I LOVE Painter over PS when it comes to digital painting.

So what you're saying is I can create utterly beautiful, gorgeously detailed datasheets just like forbin if only I learn how to use CorelDraw!?

YES!

Well...add in tons of practice and experience using the tools, utterly fantastic design skills, and sensible tastes. ;)

Sorry, I just like talking up CorelDraw. It doesn't matter if you use it, Illustrator, or even Inkscape, if you know what you're doing and use your knowledge, design skills, and tools wisely, you can do pretty much anything. Almost all of the finished product depends on the artist, themself.

I can personally achieve faster results in CorelDraw than Illustrator; it's just more intuitive...TO ME. Others feel differently., :)

I used to use CorelDraw years ago. That version is too limited today (not to mention it won't run on modern computers), so now I use Inkscape. Very capable, open-source, and it's the right price (FREE)!

But yes, very impressive work, Forbin!

I have a coworker who came to the company a fully capable Adobe user, and a dynamite Autocad user. since we only had Corel at the time, he adapted. Now he says he's completely a Corel maven, he never wants to go back.

It's a whole friggin lot cheaper too! No ridiculous monthly "rental" fee - you buy it, you own it, and you can install it as many times as you want - Each time I got a new PC or laptop, I loaded good ol' V15 (my favorite version) from the DVD without a hitch. Upgrade to the next version for me would be only $125.

I had CorelDraw 8, which is 20 years old now. Can't use it anymore (wouldn't really want to), but it did teach me the ways of the vector! :D

And Freehand. I miss Freehand.

Freehand is an able, simple-to-use program I've used to draw everything since the early 90s. Because the MacBooks that have been my main computers haven't been able to run Freehand for 10 years, I've tried to learn Photoshop, but it's too complex for my simple paleobrain. Therefore, I keep around several old Macs (desktop and laptop), just to be able to always use Freehand. Freehand lives!
