USS Carthage, TUC-era frontline cruiser

Belz...

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
The Concordia class is the largest Federation design of the 23rd century, tasked with responding quickly and with force to any crisis on the frontier, including humanitarian, diplomatic and military incidents.

After the retiring of the Enterprise-A, the Concordia-class USS Carthage became the flagship of the Federation until the commissioning of the Ambassador 17 years later, and the treaty of Algeron was signed in its own diplomatic hall.

EDIT: See post 4 for update.

This design is basically a TOS movie-era version of the Ambassador class. I did something of this sort 3 years ago but it wasn't to my satisfaction.

Whoa! This is a fantastic design - and a great forerunner to the Ambassador Class!

The period between TUC and Just before TNG is an interesting one, which needs more exploring - both in bridging designs and storylines - so well done on the USS Carthage!

Bit of an update today. I've returned the impulse engines to their previous configuration, changed the aspect of the "neck", swapped the RCS thrusters to a different design, and made a few minor adjustments.

Looks nice, but I would like to suggest a small change, which I think that fits better the overall concept: instead to put the pylons in a 90 degrees configuration, use a 45 degrees configuration. ;)
