Using a borrowed laptop, have a (probably simple) question.

My home PC recently died on me and until I can fix it, I borrowed a laptop from my sister. Now the screen on the laptop is wider than the one on my pc, and it stretches the screen out. Now perusing message boards is not a problem with this, but when I'm viewing pictures it's annoying seeing them stretched out.

I realize the fix for this is probably really simple, and yet I ask of you, help me figure it out!

I don't know what OS you're using, but if you right click on the desktop, there is an option to change the display settings (it's called Properties on XP, but I think they changed it on Vista/7 to something like Appearance). Somewhere there is an option to change the screen resolution. Try to find one that looks correct on that screen. Might be something like 1280x720 or 1280x800 depending entirely on the laptop.

That actually did it, thanks for the quick reply! I actually tried doing that before making my post here, but I tried the smaller resolution, not the bigger one.
