I remember it. It had decent logos and promos, but most importantly it offered an alternative to the other stations, especially re-runs. Unfortunately it became the home of terrible original series and for some reason wanted to the home of sitcoms starring all-black leads, as if I were watching BET 2 (this was carried over to CW; when the change occured, the network got worse).
I tuned in for two reasons: Voyager (with rabbit ears, it's not like there was a lot to choose from back then) and "Seven Days".
If "Nowhere Man" came from UPN, then that was one good thing the network did right, even though in the end they did wrong and cancelled it. The other thing it did right was "Seven Days". 7D was well done and ran for like three seasons, but unfortunately bickering between the "love" interests and lose of cast, coupled with no arcs or direction, kind of did it in. The beauty about a show like 7D is that it could be picked back up, epsecially since sicence fiction is hit right now
"Legend" was okay and certainly could have ran longer, but it needed some work and DeLancie 's acting was very lacking.
I think it was either UPN or CW that picked up "Buffy the Vamprie Slayer" after cancellation. Perhaps the smartest move they made. Unfortunately their smart moves barely filled one hand.
