as a side note, i heard there's supposed to be a collector's edition of the movie adaptation. doubt the book itself will be any different, so i don't know if it classifies as a different version or not. but it's the only piece of information i had to add, to i thought i would.

That would be this one. Reasonably priced for a signed limited hardcover (US$35). Can't figure out why a company that mainly specializes in right wing Christian Republican stuff got picked to do this, though...

I get the sense that everything about this book was last-minute. My shipped-from-Amazon-before-release copy is a second printing, which seems to indicate that preorders exceeded Pocket's expectations. Maybe Pocket took the first offer for a limited edition reprint that came their way?

Or maybe they already had a relationship with ADF...?

The last one (1994, and highly recommended!) had some amazing anecdotes about writing for Star Trek - during Richard Arnold's time at Paramount:

More Digressions: A New Collection of 'But I Digress' Columns (Trade paperback)
by Peter David (Author), Lars Pearson (Editor), J.K. Woodward (Illustrator), with a foreword by Harlan Ellison.
Peter David's regular column from a comics newspaper (Comic Buyer's Guide), now in book form. I guess this one will have something on Trek.

The old one is available from the secondary market:

I was tempted to buy the newest World of Warcraft book signed by Christie Golden with them.

I'm reading the novelization now and meh.. certainly read much worse in the area of novelizations but it's not something I need signed and nicely published. I would buy a signed omnibus of the TAS novelizations by Foster though.
