"Up" Grading to Windows XP

Ok, so here's the deal. I have a Toshiba Satellite a135-s4656 laptop that came built in with windows vista. Now I wasn't impressed with vista, so I did what I consider to be an upgrade to windows XP. The first problem was the drivers. Wireless and physical network cards where inoperative, sound and video was down, so on and so forth. Since then I've gotten almost everything working except one thing. The SM Bus Controller. I can't find a fix for it, anyone have any advice?

Your easiest solution?

Download the 15 day trial, use it to get your drivers, and voila.

Well, Maybe I am doing something wrong. But it is telling me I can't download drivers with the trial version.

Click on the driver you need and it will show the driver. Then copy and paste that into Google.

Well still can't find the right one... so many links to go through. But in any case, if anyone is dealing with the same program I have an auto installer with the drivers I DO have. Like I said, it's everything except the sm bus controller. Although I'm not sure what the SM Bus Controller does...

EDIT: I now have all of it working, so if anyone is choosing to "upgrade" from vista to xp I have all the drivers you need. Atleast for my model. PM me if you need it.

No, not for xp at any rate. And finding drivers in general is pretty scarce on their site. And when you ask one of there customer service specialists, all they will tell you is there is no possible way to run xp on this machine, but if you'd like you can order a copy of vista from them.

Which is hilarious. Any Windows compatible PC (which is everything) newer than 12 years old will load Windows XP. That service rep was blowing lots of smoke. I usually go to Driverguide.com to get odd drivers. You may want to keep that in mind for the future. It's a great place to get legit drivers. :)

Well it's obvious he was blowing smoke, since I have xp running on here now. Personally I think it's just an example of another company bending over and taking it from the Overloards of Microsoft.

Yep. I thought it was hilarious when Vista came out, and many (including Dell) trumpeted it's fantastic features, capabilities, compatibility and ease of use, and was ready to stop offering XP on all new systems.

Well, we still do. ;)

Bunch of useless frakkers - I try to buy mostly HP laptops for my place and they give you "downgrade" discs in the box with some models.
