Unsung Extras of Trek

Glad to see that you have completely forsaken this project Neopeius. I've been enjoying it.

I'll head on over and take a look at Charlie X right now.

Very nice pages. Someday, I'll sit and scan through my scripts to see if any names pop out that were not used on air and compare them to your screengrabs. Though most would not as they were not speaking parts.

Thanks! That'd be really neat.

Thanks! I appreciate your efforts to showcase the "unsung extras" of TOS. :)

One of the things I like about Season 1 in particular is that they show a large number of "lower decks" crew members in many of the episodes. This really helps convey the impression that the Enterprise is a real starship carrying a crew of 430 men and women who work and play alongside each other on a journey through space.

Exactly! When my project is all done, we can see just how many crewmembers the Enterprise has had. Keep a sharp eye for duplicates!

In my truly down time, I've taken to watching TOS eps and capping all those uncredited extras hovering in the background. I thought I'd make a website devoted to all the little known people who populated the bridge and corridors and rec room scenes. I don't know what use it would be, but it's fun to see unfamiliar faces in uniform and make up stories about them. Perhaps someone will make the uber master list of the Crew of the Enterprise.

Anyway, here's the first page I finished. If you like it, I'll do more. ^_^

The Corbomite Maneuver

It's been done, actually.

Star Trek Guest Star Database

This isn't new, and in fact, there have been a lot of dead links in this for quite some time, but the owner posted here a while back that he was working on repairing/revamping/updating the site. I don't know how that's progressing at the moment, but this is a handy site for all the reasons you described above.

It has been sort of done, but not to the degree or the user-friendliness of my project. I go through and screen cap everyone who has a discernible face.

But thanks for the link!

this guy is Jim Lupo I think
