As for the four cables. this was the only time we ever saw that thing since those...pink panels were removed. I'd say use your imagination. Same goes for the console thing. People have been doing this for half a century with a variety of sets or props from one of the Trek shows or movies. Netflix is your friend. Trekcore.com is good but I find there can be too many seconds between each screenshot.
I found an adequate picture of the big console in Christies catalog. It's good enough for my project. Yes I know, the big console was first shown in this episode. Maybe because Erickson needed a better console. The panels on the wall changed too. The one object I am looking for: You can see it above the four cables. There we see a red light. Here we have an other angle. And this is a side view. I found that every panel in these movies had a reason. You can find processing units with 'memory sticks'. Or there are tactical panels with buttons for the shields and so on. For that reason, I think this object has a 'function' too.
