Sometimes we come across some scenes that are unintentionally hilarious or absurd. At the very least, it gets us wondering what the heck the devs were thinking.
Here are some of my favourites:
Assassin's Creed II: Mind you, I don't know if the devs were intentional with this one, but it struck me as so out of place as to be hilarious. When you first get introduced to Ezio's Uncle Mario he goes and says, "What, you don't recognize me? It's-a-me, MA-RI-O!", and his eyes go wide as he says this. I'm really not sure if the devs were going for a comedy aspect, but it even sounded like our favourite plumber in the tone it was said. Maybe a bit out of character too?
Assassin's Creed 3: Paul Revere's Midnight ride. I think this one is symptomatic to the concept of Assassin's Creed, putting the main character into famous historical situations, and this game shows the problem quite clearly. Well, in this case, the devs felt Connor had to be part of the Midnight Ride, not riding beside him, but on the same horse. The imagery conveyed is unintentially hilarious. Meanwhile during this segment, Revere is shouting directions at us GPS style, nevermind the fact that he keeps reminding us to be quiet, and for Connor to go faster.
"Faster, Connor, Faster!" "Try to avoid the attention of the redcoa-TO THE LEFT, CONNOR!" Err yeah.
So, what are your favourites? I'm sure I'll have more come to mind later on.
