I don't see the similarity.
Yup. It's all optical yellow and safety stripes. That’s because other than being black on the bottom, there isn’t one.
Ya its just the shape of the top section thats getting a few laughs back home. No need to over analyse a bit of funIt's a passing/superficial similarity because of the shoulder contrast. But since the color doesn't match up with any color that Starfleet ever used, I don't get an immediate "Star Trek" impression from this uniform.

Well, since I can't wear a red turtleneck without feeling like I'm in Star Trek I guess I can see the extremely thin line for the comparison. It's a passing/superficial similarity because of the shoulder contrast. When you wear a yellow turtleneck do you tell everyone its green and only looks yellow cause of a trick of the lightWell, since I can't wear a red turtleneck without feeling like I'm in Star Trek I guess I can see the extremely thin line for the comparison.
Or, more than that, it's a way to find a good laugh. Somehow.
I did once. Some really nice people came and took me to a white room. I don't remember the name but the food was nice. When you wear a yellow turtleneck do you tell everyone its green and only looks yellow cause of a trick of the light![]()
Wow, that was something that was actually tried out? Those robes literally look like a blatant attempt to be futuristic for the sake of futurism.Reminds me of that time when the UK reformed their court dress in 2008 and the reactions were, uhm, not exactly positive.
Not just tried out, it's actually the current official judicial dress for civil and family cases (they kept the old ones for criminal cases and ceremonial occasions). The shoulder parts are even color-coded based on which level of the judiciary they're serving on. And yes, it was a deliberate attempt at modernization.Wow, that was something that was actually tried out? Those robes literally look like a blatant attempt to be futuristic for the sake of futurism.
