Underworld unrated extended DVD (question for anyone who has it)

I ordered the unrated extended cut of Underworld from Deep Discount and received it today. On the back of the DVD case it says that it includes two collectors items: a comic book and a production sketch booklet. But inside the DVD case there is nothing but the discs.

I was wondering if anyone who has bought the same DVD recently has found it to be the same. I suspect that because the DVD has been in print for many years, the books are not being made any more. But since it says on the back of DVD case that it should be included I thought I would check.

It's a bit worrying that none of the reviews on Amazon mention this. I'm not a huge fan of the movie, and I don't think it would be worth sending the DVD back for just this, but it is a bit annoying.

Mine had at least the comic. It's been at least a year since I bought and watched the film, so I'm not sure about the sketch booklet; I think it was there.

I got the US (Region 1) version three years ago now and it had the wrap around plastic sleeve, both discs, a thick manga style comic book version of the film, a "artwork" booklet with a lot of sketches and stills from the film, a leaflet with all the chapters listed and the basic case itself.

Thanks for the replies. Kind annoying that I didn't get anything, but I am probably not going to go through the hassle of returning it.

I bought the extended cut when it first came out and also got all the goodies that Chemahkuu mentioned (actually made the case rather heavy), although I would say the comic had more traditional-type artwork rather than "manga style".

I don't read Manga so I don't know, I only used the term as its the one people use to describe the artwork in it, to me its just a comic book

I have both the two disc editions of the film, I mainly bought the E&U version for all the neat goodies and the missing few minutes of the film which, much like the Ultraviolet E&U, really needed to be in the film to explain several things.

Though saying that I still have the basic single disc version of Evolution, I'd rather wait and get a complete trilogy set when Underworld 3 comes out next year.

I have this set too. The comic book is not manga style. I was a bit disappointed in it-it looks too much like screen shots put through PS filters.
The sketch booklet is kinda cool. I say if you're a huge fan its worth it, if your'e a casual fan then no.

If you really want the comic, you might want to check places like Suncoast or Borders or Barnes and Noble, someplace that sells DVDs for an absurdly high price where inventory just sits there and collects dust. Especially the bookstores, since DVDs aren't their No. 1 sales item.

You aren't missing much with the comic. The comic is pretty much a recap of the film word for word. You'll read it once and never look and it again like I did.
